About Harvey

Harvey Martin is a coach, author, entrepreneur and podcast host. He has coached and consulted athletes, business executives, and organizations in Human Performance since 2012.

Harvey consulted at every level of college athletics while working within the Scouting Department of the Milwaukee Brewers organization from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, he began to specialize in training solely around professional athletes and artists. This ranged from strength and conditioning to recovery and mental performance with Olympians, MLB, NHL, NFL players and musicians.

His work has been featured in major publications such as Sports Illustrated, AP News, and The Athletic. He has spoken and led workshops on optimizing performance with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies.

In recent years, Harvey became the San Francisco Giants Major League Human Performance Coach for three seasons (2022-2024) after consulting as a Breathing Specialist in 2021. In 2021, the team set a franchise record with 107 wins in a single season en route to winning the National League West.

Since 2017, he has curated work outside of coaching by hosting podcasts and interviewing some of the world’s top athletes, doctors, authors, and entrepreneurs.

In 2023, he launched his first book Breathe, Focus, Excel which emphasizes the importance of breathing and holistic modalities to guide sustainable health. His second book Without Words, is focused on mastering the art of being and was released in December of 2024.

A former Division 1 athlete at Central Michigan University (2008-2011), he received his bachelor's degree. He then attended Minnesota State University, Mankato (2012-2013), where he earned a master’s degree, played two seasons with the Mavericks and taught courses at the University such as Coaching Theories, Strength and Conditioning, and Team Skills.

During his tenure as a Maverick, Harvey was voted team captain and became a 2x All-American while being awarded National Pitcher of the Year before signing to play professional baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2013. The 2013 Maverick baseball team was National Runner-Up and recently inducted into the Minnesota State University, Mankato Hall of Fame.
